1. Who we are
Hush · Daily Journal ("Hush", "the app") is a reflective journaling application created and published by Innershift, a coaching and consciousness studio operating from Türkiye. The app is designed by Sera Dilara Ceylan, a CTI-certified life coach. Our website is www.innershift.com.tr.
We are the data controller for any personal information processed in connection with the Hush app. You can reach us at support@innershift.com.tr.
2. The principle: your reflections stay yours
Hush is built around a simple promise: your journal entries live on your device only. We do not upload, copy, read, store, or back up the content you write inside the app to our servers. They are stored in your device's local storage and, if you have your device's own backup enabled (Apple iCloud Backup), they are encrypted and backed up by your device's operating system — not by us, and not visible to us.
If you ever delete the app, or use the in-app "Delete all data" command in Settings, your reflections are permanently removed from your device. We have no copy to restore.
3. What information we may process
We collect only what is needed to operate the app and improve it.
- Journal entries, mood selections, and reflection history. Stored locally on your device. Not transmitted to us.
- Onboarding answers (the categories and goals you select during the first run, and your reminder time preference). Stored locally on your device.
- Subscription information. If you start a free trial or subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription state. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your subscription status (active / cancelled / trial). We do not receive your name, email, or payment details from Apple.
- Anonymous usage analytics — opt-in only. If you turn on "Anonymous analytics" during onboarding or in Settings, we use PostHog to collect aggregated, non-identifying events such as: which onboarding screen was last seen, whether the paywall was viewed, how often entries are saved. This data is not tied to your identity and is only used to improve the product. You can turn this off at any time in Settings, and we will stop sending events immediately.
- Marketing attribution — opt-in only. If we run paid advertising and you accept the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on iOS, we use AppsFlyer to measure which marketing channel introduced you to Hush. If you decline the ATT prompt or disable analytics, we do not use AppsFlyer.
- Crash reports. Apple may share anonymous crash diagnostics with us through App Store Connect to help us fix bugs. This is governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
4. How we use this information
- To run the app on your device and show you the right daily question.
- To deliver the daily reminder notification you scheduled (the notification is generated locally on your device — it is not sent from our servers).
- To unlock subscription features after a successful purchase.
- To understand, in aggregate, how to improve onboarding, retention, and the writing experience — only if you have opted in to analytics.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations related to subscription sales (handled by Apple).
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Third-party services we rely on
We work with the following processors, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Apple Inc. — App Store, In-App Purchases, push notification delivery, anonymous crash reports.
- RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription state management. Pseudonymous user ID + subscription status only.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics. Used only when you have opted in. EU data residency available.
- AppsFlyer — install attribution. Used only when you have accepted ATT and analytics are on.
- Expo Application Services (EAS) — over-the-air bundle delivery for app updates. No personal data.
6. Retention
Local journal data: kept on your device until you delete the app or use "Delete all data" in Settings. RevenueCat subscription records: kept as long as your subscription is active and afterwards as required by accounting and tax law. Analytics events (if opted in): aggregated and retained for up to 24 months for product improvement.
7. Your rights — GDPR and KVKK
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, or another jurisdiction with data-protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to processing or withdraw consent.
- Receive a portable copy of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country (in Türkiye: Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu — KVKK; in the EU: your national data-protection authority).
Most of these rights you can exercise yourself inside the app: use Settings → Export my reflections to download your data, and Settings → Delete all data to erase it. For anything else, write to support@innershift.com.tr and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
Hush is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Some processors (Apple, AppsFlyer) may transfer data to the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
10. Security
The app uses HTTPS for all network communication. Local journal data is stored using your device's standard encrypted storage. Optional Face ID / Touch ID / passcode lock can be enabled in Settings to require authentication before opening the app.
11. Health disclaimer
Hush is a reflective journaling tool. It is not a medical device, not a substitute for therapy, and not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, please contact a local helpline:

12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. For substantive changes, we will surface a notice in the app. Continued use of Hush after a change means you accept the updated policy.
